Cengkareng is a subdistrict in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta with the largest population. According to data from Jakarta's Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik Jakarta), Cengkareng's population reached 494,660 people, or 4.9 percent of Jakarta's total population of 10 million in 2014. Currently, there are 44 subdistricts in Jakarta Province, including North Thousand Islands and South Thousand Islands.
Cengkareng subdistrict consists of five villages (kelurahan): West Cengkareng (Cengkareng Barat), Duri Kosambi, Rawa Buaya, Kedaung Kali Angke, Kapuk, and East Cengkareng (Cengkareng Timur).
Meanwhile, Cakung is the subdistrict with the second largest population, reaching 484,517 people, or 4.84 percent of the total population. Duren Sawit subdistrict has the third largest population, at 395,662 people, or 3.95 percent of DKI Jakarta's total population.
