Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Nusa Tenggara erupted again on Sunday (10/11/2024) at 09.00 WITA. In the last week, Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki has erupted 47 times.

According to eruption information from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) via the MAGMA Indonesia application, the height of the ash column was observed to reach None meters above the peak or None meters above sea level.

The eruption was not visually observed. The eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki was still ongoing at the time of this report.

According to the MAGMA Indonesia volcano activity report, the activity level of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki is at Level IV (Alert). Observations of seismic activity on November 10, 2024, from 00.00-06.00 WITA showed 1 low-frequency earthquake with an amplitude of 47.3 millimeters and a duration of 26 seconds.

Then, 1 distant tectonic earthquake with an amplitude of 47.3 millimeters, s-p 21 seconds, and a duration of 76 seconds, and 1 continuous tremor with an amplitude of 47.3 millimeters, dominant 47.3 millimeters.

PVMBG advises the public around Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki and visitors/tourists not to carry out any activities within a 7-kilometer radius of the eruption center of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki, and a sectoral 9 kilometers in the Southwest-Northwest direction.

During 2024, MAGMA Indonesia has recorded 5,003 volcanic eruptions/eruptions throughout Indonesia. Mount Ibu in North Maluku had the most eruptions (2,005 eruptions), while Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki erupted 910 times.
