Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki Erupted Early Tuesday Morning; Alert Level Raised to Highest.

Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Nusa Tenggara erupted again on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 02:22 WITA. In the last week, Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki has erupted 4 times.

According to eruption information from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) via the MAGMA Indonesia application, the height of the ash column was observed to reach None meters above the peak (None meters above sea level).

The eruption was not visually observed. The eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 22 millimeters and a duration of 50 seconds.

According to the MAGMA Indonesia volcano activity report, the activity level of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki is at Level IV (Alert). Observations of seismic activity on March 25, 2025, from 18:00 to 23:59 WITA showed 4 volcanic tremor events with amplitudes of 2.9-5.9 millimeters and durations of 40-161 seconds. Then, 2 harmonic tremors with amplitudes of 4.4-7.4 millimeters and durations of 86-87 seconds.

PVMBG advises the public around Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki and visitors/tourists not to conduct any activities within a 7-kilometer radius of the eruption center of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki and in the southwest-north-northeast sector up to 8 kilometers.
