LSI Survey: Many Indonesians Still Rate Indonesian Law Enforcement as Good

Based on a survey by the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI), a majority, or 40.3% of respondents, assessed that national law enforcement is currently in good condition.

This comprises 3.1% of respondents who rated it as very good and 37.2% who rated it as good.

Furthermore, 35% of respondents considered the condition of law enforcement in Indonesia to be just fair.

On the other hand, 21.8% of respondents assessed law enforcement as poor. This includes 19.9% who rated it as bad and 1.8% who rated it as very bad.

Based on the institution, the Indonesian Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) is currently the most trusted law enforcement agency by the public, at 74%.

"Specifically regarding law enforcement, the most trusted is the Attorney General's Office," said Executive Director Djayadi Hanan in a virtual press conference on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

This is followed by the courts, with a public trust rating of 73%. Other law enforcement agencies, such as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), received 68% and 66% respectively.

This LSI survey involved 1,220 respondents aged 17 years and older or who are married. The sample was taken using a multistage random sampling method.

Data collection was conducted from August 3-9, 2023, using face-to-face interviews with professional interviewers. The survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.9% and a confidence level of 95%.
