One Percent of East Nusa Tenggara's Population Practices Other Religions

In addition to the six major religions in Indonesia, the province of East Nusa Tenggara has recorded followers of other religions. As of December 31, 2022, these followers numbered 34,251. This figure is down by 978 individuals compared to the previous year, which reported 35,229.

According to data from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the proportion of the population adhering to other religions in this province reached one percent of the total population in 2022, which amounted to 5.66 million people.

Considering the distribution relative to the total population of each province in Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara, the population adhering to religions other than the six major religions in East Nusa Tenggara is among the highest.

Other provinces in Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara with the highest number of adherents to religions other than the six major religions are: Banten (8,191), Central Java (6,128), West Java (3,264), East Java (2,328), and DKI Jakarta (405).
