Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Pidie Decreased by 0.01% in the Last 5 Years

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Pidie Regency, Aceh reached 9.12% in 2023.

This figure is down 1.88% from the previous year's 11.0%, while over the last 5 years it has decreased by 0.01%.

The average PoU in Indonesia was 8.53% in 2023. This means that the PoU in Pidie Regency is higher than the national average.

The National Food Agency (Bapanas) defines PoU as a condition where a person regularly consumes insufficient food to meet the energy needs for a normal, active, and healthy life. This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition insecurity.

This means that the percentage of residents in Pidie Regency who consume food but whose energy needs are unmet does not reach 9.12% of the total population.
