Based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 142 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Monday, September 26, 2022, shows a national average of 147.5 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Lampung Selatan, Kudus, Gianyar, Sukoharjo, and Temanggung, with 978, 978, 969, 955, and 941 specimens per week, respectively.
Lampung Selatan ranks first, with 978 specimens tested per week. The latest positive rate is 2.19 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Kudus, with a population of 893,350. To combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 978 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 1.66 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Specimen examinations in Gianyar totaled 969 per week; Sukoharjo (population 903,750) recorded 955 specimens per week; and Temanggung recorded 941 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 125 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 162 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Lampung Selatan (978 specimens), Gianyar (969 specimens), and Banjarbaru (866 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
