Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 141 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data from the week of October 23, 2022, shows a national average of 137.25 specimens examined per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Gianyar (950 specimens), Pati (949 specimens), West Bandung (922 specimens), Sukabumi (890 specimens), and Cianjur (883 specimens).
Gianyar ranks first. With a population of 528,070, the number of specimens examined is 950 per week. The latest positive rate is 4.02 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Pati. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 949 per week. The positive rate in this region is 9.27 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined in West Bandung was 922 per week, Sukabumi recorded 890 specimens per week, and Cianjur recorded 883 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 126 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 132 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Gianyar, Tarakan City, and Manado City, with 950, 835, and 724 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
