The top five, starting from the highest, are Pasuruan, Sukoharjo, Tasikmalaya City, Magetan, and Banyuwangi, with weekly specimen numbers of 991, 977, 933, 919, and 893, respectively.
Pasuruan ranks first, with 991 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 2.52 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Sukoharjo, with a population of 903,750. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 977 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 3.66 percent, also down from the previous week.
Furthermore, Tasikmalaya City examined 933 specimens per week, Magetan 919, and Banyuwangi 893.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 140 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 162 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Tanjung Pinang City, Manokwari, and Sikka, with 885, 798, and 773 specimens, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
