As of Tuesday, December 13, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 19.59 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest weekly percentage of people tested, are Balikpapan City (527.17%), Teluk Wondama (405.71%), Gunungsitoli City (385.03%), Purwakarta (259.44%), and Sikka (255.59%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly percentage of people tested is recorded at 527.17 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.62 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Teluk Wondama. The population of this region is recorded at 34,898. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 405.71 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, having decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Gunungsitoli City, with a population of 147,940, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 385.03 percent. Purwakarta recorded 259.44 percent, and Sikka recorded 255.59 percent for the weekly percentage of people tested.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 172 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher daily weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 184 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage ratio of people tested include Balikpapan City, Teluk Wondama, and Gunungsitoli City, with weekly testing percentages of 527.17 percent, 405.71 percent, and 385.03 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
