Data from Tuesday, October 11, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 15.02 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest weekly percentage of people tested, are Balikpapan City (377.8%), Badung (365.8%), Mimika (249.11%), Surakarta City (197.88%), and Kepulauan Seribu (185.71%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, its weekly percentage of people tested is 377.8 percent. The latest positive rate is 2.75 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week.
Next is Badung. This region has a population of 727,950. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 365.8 percent. The positive rate in this region is 1.69 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week's ratio.
Following this, Mimika recorded 249.11 percent testing, Surakarta City recorded 197.88 percent, and Kepulauan Seribu recorded 185.71 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a national Covid data recapitulation, 194 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 167 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Balikpapan City, Badung, and Mimika, with weekly percentages of 377.8 percent, 365.8 percent, and 249.11 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
