Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 151 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Wednesday, September 21, 2022, shows a national average of 147.18 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Cilacap (996 specimens), Pontianak City (991 specimens), South Lampung (942 specimens), Demak (868 specimens), and Pasuruan (865 specimens).
Cilacap ranks first, with 996 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 4.09 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Pontianak City, with a population of 666,710. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 991 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 5.45 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Following this, South Lampung recorded 942 specimens examined per week, while Demak and Pasuruan recorded 868 and 865 specimens per week, respectively.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 134 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 178 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of specimens examined include Pontianak City, South Lampung, and Banjarbaru City, with 991, 942, and 807 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
