Based on national Covid-19 data, 144 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data as of Saturday, September 3, 2022, shows a national average of 0.62 tests per 1000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per 1000 people per week, are Mimika (7.01 people), South Jakarta (6.57 people), Central Jakarta (6.54 people), West Jakarta (4.54 people), and South Tangerang (4.51 people).
Mimika ranks first. With a population of 221,810, the number of people tested there is 7.01 per 1000 people per week. The latest positivity rate is 3.92 percent. The positivity rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is South Jakarta. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested was 6.57 per 1000 people per week. The positivity rate in this area is 10.9 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week.
Then, Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720, recorded 6.54 Covid-19 tests per 1000 people per week. West Jakarta recorded 4.54 tests per 1000 people per week, and South Tangerang recorded 4.51 tests per 1000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 77 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 255 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested include Mimika, Balikpapan, and Badung, with 7.01, 4.44, and 4.41 people tested per 1000 people per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
