As of Monday, September 12, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 17.24 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are Balikpapan City (383.7%), Mimika (291.07%), Sukabumi City (275.08%), Surakarta City (251.93%), and Semarang City (214.87%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly percentage of people tested is recorded at 383.7 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.41 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Mimika. The population of this region is recorded at 221,810. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 291.07 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 6.44 percent, or higher than the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the weekly percentage of people tested in Sukabumi City is recorded at 275.08 percent, Surakarta City at 251.93 percent, and Semarang City at 214.87 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 153 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 200 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Balikpapan City, Mimika, and Tana Tidung, with weekly percentages of 383.7 percent, 291.07 percent, and 214.29 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
