To curb the spread of Covid-19 in various regions, 110 regencies/cities are currently aggressively conducting specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Thursday, March 2, 2023, shows the national average examination is 99.5 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Garut, Karawang, Kupang City, Cirebon City, and Gresik, with specimen numbers per week of 984, 940, 885, 845, and 843, respectively.
Garut ranks first, with 984 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 1.07 percent, which is lower than the previous week's percentage.
Next is Karawang, which examined 940 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 0.65 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Kupang City examined 885 specimens per week, Cirebon City 845 specimens per week, and Gresik 843 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid data recapitulation, 71 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 62 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimen examinations compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, some regions with the highest number of specimen examinations include Kupang City (885 specimens), Badung (792 specimens), and Kutai Kartanegara (757 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
