The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 88 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Monday, August 29, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19, exceeding 0.75 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Teluk Bintuni (1.45 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Fakfak (1.21 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Buton Tengah (1.07 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Bangka Tengah (1.01 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Kotamobagu (0.75 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. Twelve regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 than previously, while five regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to Covid-19 include Teluk Bintuni (1.45 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Fakfak (1.21 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Buton Tengah (1.07 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
