Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 179 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Wednesday, May 25, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 124.76 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to the weekly target of each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest weekly percentage of people tested, are Lamongan (984.22%), Badung (917.45%), Supiori (900%), South Jakarta (843.03%), and Balikpapan (832.45%).
Lamongan ranks first, with a weekly testing percentage of 984.22 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.01 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Badung, with a population of 727,950. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage reached 917.45 percent. The positive rate in this region is 0.64 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Supiori, with a population of 21,170, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 900 percent; South Jakarta recorded 843.03 percent; and Balikpapan, with a population of 646,020, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 832.45 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 27 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 362 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Badung, Supiori, and Balikpapan, with weekly testing percentages of 917.45 percent, 900 percent, and 832.45 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
