Next is Guatemala with two deaths (unchanged from the previous period), and Mexico with a 7.02% decrease in deaths.
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the past seven days in the Americas occurred in the United States with 978 deaths. Death reports in this country increased by 54.02% compared to the previous week. Following this, Mexico reported the second highest number of deaths with 106 (down 7.02%), Peru recorded 73 deaths (down 0%), and Guatemala recorded two deaths (down 0%).
The total number of deaths in the Americas over the past seven days was 1,159. This accounts for 40.78 percent of global deaths caused by the Covid-19 virus, totaling 2,842. The number of deaths in the Americas increased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 824 deaths.
