655 hotspots were detected in East Kalimantan, 631 in Maluku, while South Kalimantan and Riau recorded 617 and 436 detected hotspots respectively.
A hotspot is a coordinate point where surface temperature is higher than its surrounding area; this does not equal the total number of fire incidents.
