Based on national Covid data recapitulation, 178 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data as of Monday, August 1, 2022, shows a national average of 197.65 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Pontianak City (959 people), Cilacap (955 people), Kudus (954 people), Jepara (941 people), and Kubu Raya (920 people).
Pontianak City ranks first. With a population of 666,710, the number of people tested in the last week was 959 per week. The latest positive rate is 4.17 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Cilacap. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested in the last week was 955 per week. The positive rate in this region is 4.61 percent, also higher than the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, 954 people were tested per week in Kudus, 941 in Jepara, and 920 in Kubu Raya in the last week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, 47 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of people tested daily in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 340 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested in the last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested in the last week include Pontianak City, Kubu Raya, and Gianyar, with 959, 920, and 912 people tested respectively in the last week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
