The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 95 districts/cities with a number of deaths due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.07 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
The five districts/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 1.35 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Central Jakarta, Kulon Progo, West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and Surakarta, with respective values of 1.64, 1.56, 1.39, 1.39, and 1.35 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Twelve districts/cities recorded a higher daily number of Covid-19 deaths than previously, while two districts/cities recorded lower numbers.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths include Banggai Laut, Aceh Jaya, and Bengkulu Tengah, with 1.27, 1.03, and 0.86 deaths per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
