As of Friday, September 16, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 17.32 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are Balikpapan City (435.56%), Mimika (320.54%), Sukabumi City (264.74%), Surakarta City (255.02%), and Semarang City (248.33%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly percentage of people tested here was recorded at 435.56 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.35 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Mimika. The population in this region is recorded at 221,810. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested was 320.54 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 5.57 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Sukabumi City recorded 264.74 percent testing, Surakarta City with a population of 519,800, recorded a weekly percentage of people tested at 255.02 percent, and Semarang City recorded a weekly percentage of people tested at 248.33 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 168 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 189 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage ratio of people tested include Balikpapan City, Mimika, and Jayapura City, with weekly percentages of people tested at 435.56 percent, 320.54 percent, and 191.56 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission in some areas has decreased, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
