Jakarta's air quality this morning is the worst in the world. This is based on data from IQAir on Thursday (June 15, 2023) at 10:14 WIB, which shows that the air quality index (AQI US) in Jakarta is at 157.
According to IQAir's scale, a score in the range of 0-50 indicates good air quality, while 51-100 means moderate air quality, and 101-150 means unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups.
Next, unhealthy air quality ranges from 151-200, very unhealthy air quality is in the range of 201-300, and hazardous air quality is above 301.
This means that Jakarta's air quality this morning is categorized as unhealthy.
The main air pollutant in the capital city this morning is PM2.5, with a concentration of 68 µg/m³ (micrograms per cubic meter).
According to IQAir, the PM2.5 concentration in Jakarta is currently 13.6 times the World Health Organization's (WHO) annual air quality guideline. The WHO's ideal air quality standard has a PM2.5 concentration weight between 0 and 5 micrograms per cubic meter.
The data on Jakarta's air quality index was obtained from 23 contributors, including Purple Air, AirNow, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), and the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
Below Indonesia, Shanghai has the second worst air quality in the world with an air quality index of 156. Then, in third place is Wuhan with an air quality index of 134.
