This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the total number of people tested in each region, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five regions with the highest weekly percentage of suspect testing, in descending order, are Simalungun (90.35%), Mandailing Natal (82.87%), Pangandaran (76.04%), East Lombok (66.39%), and Pidie (62.28%).
Simalungun ranks first. With a population of 877,710, its weekly suspect testing percentage is recorded at 90.35 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.22 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Mandailing Natal. This region has a population of 460,360. In an effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect testing percentage is 82.87 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, a decrease compared to the previous week's ratio.
Following this is Pangandaran, with a population of 407,350, recording a weekly suspect testing percentage of 76.04 percent. East Lombok recorded 66.39 percent, and Pidie recorded 62.28 percent for weekly suspect testing.
In anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national COVID-19 data recapitulation, 194 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher weekly percentage of suspect testing than the previous week. Meanwhile, 147 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly suspect testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Simalungun, Mandailing Natal, and East Lombok, with weekly suspect testing percentages of 90.35 percent, 82.87 percent, and 66.39 percent, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water.
