To curb the spread of COVID-19 in regions, currently 188 regencies/cities are aggressively conducting weekly testing exceeding the national average. Data from the week of March 27, 2022, shows a national average of 95.91 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are East Jakarta (907.77%), West Jakarta (851.88%), Metro City (784.57%), North Jakarta (742.86%), and Mimika (717.41%).
East Jakarta ranks first, with a weekly testing percentage of 907.77 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.13 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is West Jakarta. In an effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage reached 851.88 percent. The positive rate in this region is 3.95 percent, also down from the previous week's ratio.
Then, Metro City recorded 784.57 percent, while the weekly testing percentage in North Jakarta was 742.86 percent and Mimika 717.41 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national COVID-19 data recapitulation, 207 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 166 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Metro City, Mimika, and Teluk Wondama, with percentages of 784.57 percent, 717.41 percent, and 625.71 percent respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
