Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 184 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Friday, July 29, 2022, shows a national average of 235.7 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Jombang (986 people), Manado City (980 people), Serang City (978 people), Timor Tengah Selatan (964 people), and Jepara (961 people).
Jombang ranks first, with 986 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 2.54 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Manado City, with a population of 433,880. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 980 people were tested per week. The positive rate is 0.61 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Furthermore, Serang City recorded 978 tests per week, Timor Tengah Selatan 964 tests per week, and Jepara 961 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 35 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 357 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of weekly tests include Manado City, Timor Tengah Selatan, and Palu City, with 980, 964, and 902 tests per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
