Data from the week of October 16, 2022, shows a national average screening rate of 10.27 percent. This suspect screening data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the total number of people screened in each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest weekly suspect screening percentage, are Simalungun (93.27%), Boven Digoel (82.57%), Pangandaran (82.06%), Mandailing Natal (80.28%), and Tasikmalaya (78.79%).
Simalungun ranks first. With a population of 877,710, its weekly suspect screening percentage is recorded at 93.27 percent. The latest positive rate is 2.26 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week.
Next is Boven Digoel. The population of this region is 71,134. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect screening percentage is 82.57 percent. The positive rate in this region is 16.67 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Pangandaran recorded 82.06 percent screening, Mandailing Natal recorded 80.28 percent, and Tasikmalaya recorded 78.79 percent for weekly suspect screening.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 162 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher weekly percentage of suspect screening than before. Meanwhile, 174 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly suspect screening percentage compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect screening percentages include Simalungun, Boven Digoel, and Mandailing Natal, with weekly suspect screening percentages of 93.27 percent, 82.57 percent, and 80.28 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
