The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 78 regencies/cities with weekly inpatient utilization above the national average, currently recorded at 1.03 patients per 100,000 population/week (data as of Monday, December 19, 2022).
The five regencies/cities with the highest inpatient utilization, exceeding 4.15 patients per 100,000 population/week, are Kediri City, Sorong City, Palu City, Kepahiang, and Pringsewu, with respective values of 6.49 patients per 100,000 population/week, 6.25 patients per 100,000 population/week, 4.94 patients per 100,000 population/week, 4.2 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 4.15 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient utilization in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A higher than previous daily inpatient utilization was recorded in 17 regencies/cities, while 42 regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient utilization.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient utilization include Sorong City, Palu City, and Kepahiang, with inpatient utilization rates of 6.25 patients per 100,000 population/week, 4.94 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 4.2 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
