The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 121 districts/cities with COVID-19 referral hospital inpatient rates per 100,000 population/week above the national average, currently recorded at 7.58 patients per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, February 17, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with inpatient rates exceeding 49.53 patients per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, Magelang City, Palangkaraya City, Cirebon City, and Malang City, with respective rates of 77.16, 66.44, 56.46, 49.89, and 49.53 patients per 100,000 population/week.
A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient utilization in most districts/cities outside Java is increasing. 95 districts/cities recorded higher daily inpatient utilization than before, while 63 districts/cities recorded lower utilization.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest inpatient utilization rates include Palangkaraya City, Manado City, and Klungkung Regency, with respective rates of 56.46, 38.95, and 35.82 patients per 100,000 population/week.
The government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
