The top five, starting from the highest number of people tested per 1000 population/week, are South Jakarta (5.4 people), Central Jakarta (5.01 people), Balikpapan (4.42 people), West Jakarta (3.57 people), and East Jakarta (3.54 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 5.4 people tested per 1000 population/week. The latest positive rate is 7.38 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 5.01 people per 1000 population/week were tested. The positive rate in this area is 9.44 percent, up from the previous week.
Balikpapan recorded 4.42 people tested per 1000 population/week, West Jakarta 3.57 people per 1000 population/week, and East Jakarta 3.54 people per 1000 population/week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 161 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 173 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested include Balikpapan (4.42 people), Mimika (3.11 people), and Badung (2.99 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
