The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Tanah Bumbu (983 specimens), Pasuruan (979 specimens), Bandung Barat (978 specimens), Pangandaran (960 specimens), and Jember (946 specimens).
Tanah Bumbu ranks first. With a population of 407,700, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 983 per week. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Pasuruan. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 979 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.46 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Bandung Barat recorded 978 specimens examined per week, Pangandaran recorded 960 specimens per week, and Jember recorded 946 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 152 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 163 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Tanah Bumbu, Batu Bara, and Tabanan, with 983, 899, and 855 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
