Based on national Covid-19 data, 150 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. As of Tuesday, September 13, 2022, the national average was 150.05 specimens per week.
The top five, in descending order, are Demak, Blora, Klaten, Manokwari, and Banyuwangi, with 990, 972, 967, 954, and 926 specimens per week, respectively.
Demak ranks first, with 990 specimens tested per week. Its latest positive rate is 1.02 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Blora is next, with a population of 866,140. To combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 972 specimens were tested per week. Its positive rate is 0.39 percent, also up from the previous week.
Klaten recorded 967 specimens per week, Manokwari 954, and Banyuwangi 926.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows that 135 regencies/cities actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Conversely, 176 regencies/cities recorded fewer specimens tested compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of specimens tested include Manokwari (954 specimens), Tarakan (838 specimens), and Ambon (798 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
