Subsidized housing refers to affordable and habitable homes specifically designed for low-income communities.
Eligible individuals can purchase these homes through special government assistance programs, such as the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP), Down Payment Subsidy (SBUM), Savings-Based Housing Financing Assistance (BP2BT), and others.
Currently, the supply of subsidized housing is abundant, far exceeding the demand. This is evident from data from the Developer Information System (SiKumbang).
SiKumbang is a working application for partner developers of subsidized housing officially registered with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).
SiKumbang recorded a total national supply of 723,600 subsidized housing units as of May 30, 2024.
Meanwhile, the demand for subsidized housing is only 203,800 individuals, as shown in the graph.
This surplus in supply is also recorded across all provinces, except for DKI Jakarta. As of May 30, 2024, the availability of subsidized housing in DKI Jakarta is only 225 units, while the demand is 861 individuals.
