Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 135 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Tuesday, October 11, 2022, shows a national average of 138.27 specimens per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Cianjur (989 specimens), Kediri (981 specimens), Gianyar (975 specimens), Palangkaraya City (967 specimens), and Mataram City (967 specimens).
Cianjur ranks first, with 989 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 2.85 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Next is Kediri, which examined 981 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 5.2 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Gianyar recorded 975 specimens per week, while Palangkaraya City and Mataram City each recorded 967 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron variant's impact across various regions, the national Covid-19 data recapitulation shows that 145 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 150 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Gianyar (975 specimens), Palangkaraya City (967 specimens), and Mataram City (967 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
