Jakarta's COVID-19 Hospital Bed Occupancy Rate is the Highest Nationally

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) notes that the bed occupancy rate (BOR) of referral hospitals for COVID-19 is decreasing. Nationally, the average hospital BOR was 2% as of Friday, December 31, 2021.

Jakarta became the province with the highest hospital BOR at 6%. However, this percentage is still below the World Health Organization (WHO) standard of 60%.

Yogyakarta followed with a hospital BOR of 5%. North Sulawesi and Aceh were next, both with a hospital BOR of 4%.

Following these were Bali, Banten, West Sumatra, Riau, and South Sumatra, all with a hospital BOR of 3%.

The decrease in hospital BOR coincides with the declining trend of COVID-19 cases. Based on data from the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, active COVID-19 cases in Indonesia were recorded at 4,311 on Thursday, December 30, 2021.

However, the public is still urged to diligently implement the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. These health protocols are important to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
