COVID-19 Referral Hospital Bed Occupancy in Papua Remains Highest Nationally

According to data from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), the national bed occupancy rate (BOR) for referral hospitals handling Covid-19 was 3% on Sunday, November 14, 2021.

Papua had the highest hospital BOR at 11%, followed by East Nusa Tenggara at 10%. Aceh and Yogyakarta both had a 6% hospital BOR.

North Maluku, North Sulawesi, West Sumatra, North Kalimantan, and West Sulawesi followed with the same hospital BOR percentage of 5%. Bali and Jakarta both had a 4% hospital BOR. Gorontalo reported zero Covid-19 patients in referral hospitals. Above that, West Papua had a 1% hospital BOR.

The decrease in hospital BOR is in line with the declining trend of corona cases. Based on Worldometers data, the number of active cases of people infected with the corona virus in Indonesia was recorded at 10,979 on Sunday, November 7, 2021.

Although it has decreased, the public must remain disciplined in implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. These health protocols are important to prevent the spread of corona.
