Data from the week of August 28, 2022, shows a national average of 26 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Surakarta City, Sukabumi City, Fakfak, and Semarang City, with percentages of 478.42 percent, 359.85 percent, 295.14 percent, 269.05 percent, and 266.17 percent, respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 478.42 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.25 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Surakarta City. The population in this region is recorded at 519,800. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 359.85 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 4.61 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Sukabumi City recorded 295.14 percent, Fakfak recorded 269.05 percent, and Semarang City recorded 266.17 percent for weekly testing percentages.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 175 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 181 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Fakfak, and Supiori, with weekly testing percentages of 478.42 percent, 269.05 percent, and 261.9 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
