The top five, starting from the highest weekly suspect testing percentage, are Simalungun (93.51%), Mandailing Natal (80.95%), Tasikmalaya (80.59%), Boven Digoel (79.44%), and Tidore Islands City (79.31%).
Simalungun ranks first. With a population of 877,710, its weekly suspect testing percentage is recorded at 93.51 percent. The latest positive rate is 3.93 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Mandailing Natal. The population in this region is recorded at 460,360. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect testing percentage is 80.95 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.39 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, the weekly suspect testing percentage in Tasikmalaya is recorded at 80.59 percent. Boven Digoel, with a population of 71,134, recorded a weekly suspect testing percentage of 79.44 percent. Tidore Islands City recorded a percentage of 79.31 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 167 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly suspect testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 172 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly suspect testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Simalungun, Mandailing Natal, and Boven Digoel, with weekly suspect testing percentages of 93.51 percent, 80.95 percent, and 79.44 percent, respectively.
