Data from Monday, August 1, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 6.72 percent. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the total number of people tested in each region, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage, are Simalungun (86.13%), Mandailing Natal (79.86%), Pangandaran (74.15%), Tasikmalaya (67.44%), and Balangan (54.55%).
Simalungun ranks first. With a population of 877,710, its weekly suspect testing percentage is recorded at 86.13 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.2 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week.
Next is Mandailing Natal. The region's population is 460,360. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect testing percentage reached 79.86 percent. The positive rate in this region is 0.33 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Pangandaran recorded 74.15 percent, Tasikmalaya 67.44 percent, and Balangan 54.55 percent in weekly suspect testing percentages.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on national Covid data recapitulation, 191 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily weekly suspect testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 167 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly suspect testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Simalungun, Mandailing Natal, and Balangan, with percentages of 86.13 percent, 79.86 percent, and 54.55 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water.
