The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Sukoharjo (985 people), Malang (965 people), Samarinda City (958 people), Sukabumi City (938 people), and Blora (904 people).
Sukoharjo ranks first. With a population of 903,750, the number of people tested in the last week was 985 per week. The latest positive rate is 4.37 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Malang. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested last week was 965 per week. The positive rate in this region is 10.47 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, the number of Covid-19 tests conducted in Samarinda City last week was 958 per week, in Sukabumi City 938 per week, and in Blora 904 per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 156 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 206 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested last week include Samarinda City, Mimika, and Jayapura City, with 958, 848, and 810 people tested last week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
