South Tangerang's air quality this morning is the worst in the Jabodetabek area based on data from the Air Pollutant Standard Index (ISPU) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). South Tangerang's air quality index was recorded at 75 on Sunday (14/1/2024) at 08.00 WIB.
Below South Tangerang is Depok in second place with an air quality index of 66. Next, Bekasi is in third place with a score of 62.
For information, KLHK applies the following air quality categories based on the ISPU range:
* 0-50: Good
* 51-100: Moderate
* 101-200: Unhealthy
* 201-300: Very Unhealthy
* 300+: Hazardous
The air quality index or ISPU is monitored at 72 stations spread across 31 provinces. The calculation of the air quality index uses the results of measurements of air pollutant parameters, consisting of particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3), and hydrocarbons (HC).
This shows that cities in Jabodetabek such as Central Jakarta have good air quality, while South Tangerang, Depok, Bekasi, Bogor, and Tangerang have moderate air quality.
KLHK advises that everyone in areas with unhealthy air quality should reduce prolonged outdoor physical activity. Meanwhile, in areas with moderate air quality, everyone can still be outdoors except for sensitive groups.
Everyone living in areas with very unhealthy and hazardous air quality should avoid all outdoor activities.
