The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPA) reported that from January 1 to June 20, 2023, there were 11,292 recorded cases of violence.
This figure is a real-time count, based on data updated at 1:16 PM WIB. The data was collected through the Online Information System for Women and Child Protection (Simfoni).
The majority of victims were women, totaling 10,098, while 2,173 victims were male.
Thirty-two percent of victims were aged 13-17 years old, and the most prevalent type of violence was sexual violence, with 5,053 cases.
Geographically, the highest number of violence cases occurred in the Riau Islands, with 1,154 cases.
West Java followed in second place with 815 cases.
DKI Jakarta was third with 781 cases, followed by West Papua with 586 cases.
KemenPPA also noted that perpetrators were often close to the victims. 2,204 perpetrators were boyfriends or friends of the victims.
This was followed by perpetrators who were spouses (1,967 cases) and family members (1,379 cases).

1. Riau Islands: 1,154 cases
2. West Java: 815 cases
3. DKI Jakarta: 781 cases
4. West Papua: 586 cases
5. Southeast Sulawesi: 577 cases
6. Bengkulu: 573 cases
7. South Sumatra: 492 cases
8. Banten: 489 cases
9. Aceh: 468 cases
10. East Kalimantan: 465 cases
