The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are Balikpapan City (328.26%), Kutai Kartanegara (184.2%), Purwakarta (182.17%), Banjarbaru City (134.29%), and Tarakan City (110.53%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 649,420, the weekly percentage of people tested is recorded at 328.26 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.19 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Kutai Kartanegara. The population in this region is recorded at 802,710. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 184.2 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, having decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the weekly percentage of people tested in Purwakarta is recorded at 182.17 percent, in Banjarbaru City at 134.29 percent, and in Tarakan City at 110.53 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 118 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher daily weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 31 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week's testing.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Balikpapan City, Kutai Kartanegara, and Banjarbaru City, with weekly percentages of 328.26 percent, 184.2 percent, and 134.29 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue participating in reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water.
