The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 75 regencies/cities with a number of deaths due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.05 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Saturday, August 27, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 1.07 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Teluk Bintuni, Bangli, Ternate City, Fakfak, and Central Buton, with respective values of 1.45 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 1.3 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 1.23 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 1.21 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 1.07 deaths per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that the number of deaths due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A higher than previous daily number of deaths due to Covid-19 was recorded in seven regencies/cities, while 10 regencies/cities recorded a lower number of deaths due to Covid-19.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths include Teluk Bintuni, Bangli, and Ternate City, with respective death rates of 1.45 deaths per 100,000 population per week, 1.3 deaths per 100,000 population per week, and 1.23 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
