A report from the COVID-19 Task Force shows that the average mask-wearing compliance at places of worship was the highest among crowded locations in DKI Jakarta. The percentage reached 100% during the period of July 12-18, 2021.
Crowded locations with an average mask-wearing compliance rate above 90 percent include malls and schools. The mask-wearing compliance percentage in malls was 99.62%, and in schools, it was 99.53%.
Other locations in Jakarta with high mask-wearing compliance rates include offices and stations, with average compliance rates of 98.77% and 96.27%, respectively. Public sports venues/RTPRA and markets recorded 96.22% and 91.50%, respectively.
The location with the lowest average mask-wearing compliance rate was the terminal, at 60.23%.
A total of 22,744 individuals were monitored at 2,090 points regarding the implementation of health protocols in DKI Jakarta during that period, including mask-wearing compliance. The average mask-wearing compliance across the six cities/regencies in the province reached 92.27%.
The use of masks, especially double-layered masks or N95 type masks, is crucial in preventing the transmission of the coronavirus. Therefore, the public is urged to wear masks when engaging in outdoor activities. Furthermore, the public is encouraged to maintain physical distancing, wash their hands with soap, avoid crowds, and limit mobility.
