The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Deli Serdang (989 people), Sukabumi (988 people), Indramayu (974 people), Pekanbaru City (924 people), and Makassar City (918 people).
Deli Serdang ranks first, with 989 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 1.52 percent, lower than the previous week's percentage.
Next is Sukabumi, where 988 people were tested per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 2.94 percent, also lower than the previous week's ratio.
Indramayu recorded 974 tests per week, Pekanbaru City 924 tests per week, and Makassar City 918 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 129 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of people tested daily in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 217 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested in the last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested per week include Deli Serdang, Pekanbaru City, and Makassar City, with 989, 924, and 918 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
