Beyond direct cash assistance (BLT), the public expects a number of other policies from the government to mitigate the impact of the pandemic Covid-19.
This is recorded in a report by the Indonesian Political Indicator survey institute released on Sunday (3/4).
According to the survey, the majority, or 28.4% of respondents, believe that the government's best policy to mitigate the impact of the pandemic is to provide basic necessities for the poor.
Other policies considered necessary include cash assistance to those in need, and strengthening health policies, including the protection of health workers and the purchase of medical equipment, with respondent assessment percentages of 19% each.
Furthermore, 17.6% of respondents felt that policies to create jobs for those who lost their jobs during the pandemic were necessary, and 8.3% of respondents hoped for assistance policies for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
There were also 0.2% of respondents who felt the need for assistance policies for companies, such as tax relief, credit provision, and others.
As many as 5% of respondents felt that no special policies were needed, as the pandemic was considered to be under control and the majority of the population had been vaccinated.
Meanwhile, 2.6% of other respondents did not know or did not answer.
This survey was conducted from February 11-21, 2022. The survey population consisted of citizens aged 17 years or older, or those who were married at the time of the survey. Sample selection used a *multistage random sampling* method.
In this survey, the sample base totaled 1,200 people from all provinces proportionally. Assuming a *simple random sampling* method, the margin of error is approximately 2.9% at a 95% confidence level.
