Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 178 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average in the last week. Data from the week of July 31, 2022, shows a national average of 211.89 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Cilacap (991 people), Karanganyar (984 people), Gianyar (982 people), Kubu Raya (967 people), and Jepara (949 people).
Cilacap ranks first, with 991 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 4.54 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Karanganyar, with a population of 900,970. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 984 people were tested per week. The positive rate is 3.05 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Following is Gianyar, with a population of 528,070, recording 982 Covid-19 tests per week. Kubu Raya recorded 967 tests per week, and Jepara recorded 949 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 39 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 350 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests per week include Gianyar, Kubu Raya, and Sikka, with 982, 967, and 939 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
