The use of telemedicine services increased significantly during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is recorded in a survey report by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) titled Survey on the Use of Healthcare and Telemedicine Services in Indonesia, released on Thursday (7/4).

The KIC survey found that at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, only about 20% of respondents used telemedicine services. Over the past six months, usage increased by 44.1%.

Telemedicine users in this report refer to those who used online consultation services with doctors, either through online services from hospitals/clinics or using third-party digital applications.

This online survey was conducted from February 28 to March 7, 2022. A total of 2,108 respondents participated, spread across 34 Indonesian provinces. The criteria for telemedicine users included being over 16 years old.

"No margin of error can be associated with a non-probability sample, in this case, online and telesurveys. However, for comparison purposes, a probability sample of 2,108 respondents would have a margin of error of approximately 2.13%," wrote KIC in its report.
