Based on national Covid-19 data, 144 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from the week of July 31, 2022, shows a national average of 1.1 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, ranked from highest to lowest number of people tested per 1,000 people per week, are: South Jakarta (12.36 people), Central Jakarta (11.16 people), South Tangerang (8.12 people), West Jakarta (8.02 people), and East Jakarta (7.91 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 12.36 people tested per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 15.75 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 11.16 people per 1,000 people per week were tested. The positive rate in this area is 15.23 percent, also an increase from the previous week.
Covid-19 testing in South Tangerang recorded 8.12 people per 1,000 people per week, West Jakarta recorded 8.02 people per 1,000 people per week, and East Jakarta recorded 7.91 people per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 33 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 343 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Badung (7.34 people), Mimika (6.13 people), and Balikpapan (6.12 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
